Echoes of Origin

Across the world, ancestral wisdom stands on the edge of silence. Languages fade, lands are rewritten, and the stories holding our collective identity are lost with the passing of each tribe. Echoes of Origin is a living archive of fine art and storytelling, remembering and returning to light humanity’s native cultures.

This collection opays homage to the Picuris. Pre-colonialism, they were the largest Native American tribe in Northern New Mexico. Now, less than 300 remain. With government regulations on their land, misuse of their water supply, and a disappearing language, these photographs acknowledge the grief of their past, and their unmistakable pride in the present.

“It’s hard to be a Native American in this 21st century.”
