Up in Smoke
Portraiture is not about sharp, pretty pictures.
It’s about essence.
The face may disappear.
But the presence doesn’t.
Meet Mak.
Bartender. Rule bender.
Fancy cars. Fast bikes.
He taught my twenty-year-old self
more than my mother would care to know.
He’d walk to the front of a long line for a club.
A minute later, we’re inside.
We’d even slip into sold-out venues on NYE as VIP.
Never asked how.
Just enjoyed the process.
Long story short, Mak is a mystery.
So is this picture.
